China University of Mining and Technology and Vrije Universiteit Brussel Convene Online '3+2' Program Communication Meeting

On the afternoon of September 23rd, China University of Mining and Technology and Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) held an online communication meeting for the "3+2" program in Conference Room A508 of the Liberal Arts Building. The meeting was chaired by Gong Yunlong, the director of the International Cooperation and External Exchange Office of the School of Public Policy & Management and the deputy director of the Land Resources Management Department, aiming to deepen educational cooperation between the two universities and optimize the project application process.


In attendance were Professor Matthieu Kervyn, the head of the Geography Department and a member of the International Affairs Committee at VUB, Ms. Tong Xiaohong, the head of International Markets and Recruitment at the Office of International Relations and Mobility, Xu Yang, the head of European Affairs at the International Cooperation and Exchange Office of China University of Mining and Technology, Yan Zhigang and Chen Yu, the deputy directors of the Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Department at the School of Environment and Surveying, and Li Long, the deputy director of the International Cooperation and External Exchange Office of the School of Public Policy & Management, along with other staffs.


During the meeting, both sides had a detailed discussion on the admission requirements for the master's program in the Geography Department of VUB, including the application start and end times, application review efficiency, tuition fees, scholarship settings, undergraduate degree requirements, language proficiency requirements, substitution issues for prerequisite courses, and credit requirements for obtaining a master's degree, as well as whether applicants are required to complete their undergraduate thesis at China University of Mining and Technology. In addition, both sides also exchanged views on the possibility of cooperation in other majors, exploring potential areas for future cooperation.


Through this communication meeting, both sides reached a consensus on the cooperation details of the "3+2" program. The successful holding of the meeting not only strengthened the cooperative relationship between the two universities but also provided more international learning opportunities for students at China University of Mining and Technology.
