On the afternoon of June 4th, a seminar titled "How to Enhance Carbon & Greenhouse Gas Research?" held in Room A301 at the School of Public Policy & Management(School of Emergency Management). This enlightening seminar was presented by Prof. Dong-Gill Kim from Hawassa University in Ethiopia. Vice Dean Yan Qingwu, faculty members and postgraduate students of our school actively participated in this seminar.

Prof. Dong-Gill Kim commenced his presentation with a comprehensive overview of the current status of carbon(C) and greenhouse gas(GHG) research, which mainly includes the global distribution of observed soil CO2 emissions, the soil organic carbon changes research and the greenhouse gases research over time by GDP levelsFurthermore, he expounded the reasons why developing countries have less C&GHG research on knowledge&information, technical, financial and policy aspects. In addition, he shared easily applicable C&GHG research and how to analyze soil carbon content. His presentation concluded with a recommendation for the adoption of appropriate technology and approaches tailored to the needs of C&GHG research.

The seminar fostered a vibrant exchange of ideas as students and faculty engaged in profound dialogue with Prof. Kim. They not only shared their perspectives but also gained invaluable insights that will inform their future academic endeavors. This seminar significantly deepened the participants' comprehension of C&GHG research, offering fresh perspectives on potential research directions and expanding the students' global research outlook.
