Personal Profile

Jing Liu, Ph.D., associate professor of China University of Mining and Technology. She graduated from Nanjing University with a Ph.D. in Geography in September 2020 and joined the School of Geography and Ocean Science at Nanjing University in October 2020 as a research associate. In September 2023, she joined the School of Public Policy & Management at China University of Mining and Technology as an associate professor.Associate Professor Liu is mainly engaged in teaching and research work in areas such as food security and farmland protection, land resource utilization and management, comprehensive land consolidation and spatial optimization, etc. At present, she has published over 40 academic papers, including 12 papers as the first author in Journal of Rural Studies, Land Use Policy, Applied Geography, Journal of Cleaner Production, Science of the Total Environment,Acta Geographica Sinica, Geographical Research, Scientia Geographica Sinica, and Journal of Natural Resources, etc., many of which were highly cited/high-impact papers selected by Web of Science/ CNKI. She has presided over six projects including National Natural Science Foundation of China, Humanity and Social Science Youth Foundation of Ministry of Education of China, Natural Science Foundation of Jiangsu Province,Shuangchuang Project of Jiangsu Province, and Open Fund of Key Laboratory of Coastal Zone Exploitation and Protection, Ministry of Natural Resource, etc. She has also been awarded honors such as National Outstanding Youth Thesis in Human Geography (2023), Excellent Doctoral Dissertation at Nanjing University (2022), First Prize in Science and Technology at Jiangsu Land Science Society (2021), Outstanding Graduate at Nanjing University (2020), and National Scholarship for Doctoral Students (2019), etc.

Food security and farmland protection, land resource utilization and management, rural transformation and spatial governance, land consolidation and spatial optimization, etc.
